*I start my clinical observations today at the high school. If it’s anything like last semester, where I watched high school seniors draw pictures of the ghosts in Macbeth, it will be a “scathing indictment of the public school system” (as is said multiple times on Big Bang Theory). But I’m always holding out hope that this will be the first teacher I’ve seen since my own high school days that wows me…
*I just realized how depressing that last comment was. I used to be so idealistic about education.
*That’s not to say that I don’t think there are brilliant, inspired teachers out there (I personally have been lucky enough to be taught be several).
*What I really mean to say is that since starting my teacher education classes, I’ve begun to realize that NOBODY does everything you’re “supposed” to do.
*But that’s okay.
*Anyway, on to other topics. This week my other job kicks in, which means that I’ll be going going going from 7 AM to 9 PM every day this week except Friday. But, if everything goes as smoothly as yesterday, it shouldn’t be too bad. And the best news? After this week, my other job doesn’t kick in for almost a month. A month! I almost feel like a free, unrestrained woman—maybe I’ll celebrate by making cinnamon love knots every other morning and dancing around in my underwear to Miley Cyrus. Maybe.
*Matt has two huge exams today in his two toughest classes. Poor guy. I remember the days when I used to take tests…
*My bum is still sore from the 20-minute bike ride I took on Saturday. Just saying.
*I have almost finished a book, people. *GASP!* *APPLAUSE* (I know, I amaze even myself sometimes…I mean, it’s been so long since I’ve actually finished a book that I’ve almost forgotten how to do it.)
*Because of clinicals, I don’t have to work today. Isn’t that about the best thing you’ve ever heard? I certainly think so. I’ll actually get to see Matt today before bedtime. Marvelous!
