What I Miss

You know what I miss? I miss working out. I miss doing Zumba every Thursday, Power Toning every Monday, The Cardio Class from you-know-where every Tuesday, Yoga on Wednesdays. I feel like a blob. A sleeping, eating, work-a-holic blob. Sigh. Maybe I’ll have time next semester to get back into all that jazz. Hopefully.

Conference Weekend

For General Conference weekend, Matt and I headed back to Bountiful to go see the family and to go hear the inspired messages of our church leaders. While Matt went off to go see the Priesthood Session (the session just for men), I went and met up with a bunch of my mission buddies at …

Matt’s Birthday Weekend

Last Saturday was Matt’s birthday, which gave me just the excuse I needed to make this cake: this scrumptious, lick-your-fingers, rich Oreo-filling chocolate cake that I got off of Pinterest. Matt has been asking me every week to buy him Oreos at the grocery store. And every week I tell him no, because he’ll eat …

A War-Time Love Letter

I woke up this morning from a terrible nightmare that left me shaking and crying. Perhaps that is why I teared up immediately as I read this letter from an article for my social studies class. I …

Dear Mom

Dear Mom, I couldn’t wait a minute longer before writing you a note to thank you for the beautiful flower delivery I got at work today–you know how hard of a time I’ve had with my job, and how many times I’ve wanted to quit. But despite my decision to stay on (for now), I …

A Weekend to Refresh

I don’t think it’s any secret that my job stresses me out. A lot. So when this last weekend rolled around, I was in desperate need of some rejuvenation and sanity-rebuilding. Matt had to work late Friday night, so I somehow motivated myself to get all my homework done before he got home. Smartest. Move. …

Finally!

Finally! A weekend that actually felt like we were on summer vacation! Kayla and her friend Sam came up from Bountiful. Petrice and her family came by to join us for dinner. We enjoyed king ranch chicken, chips and salsa, cheesecake, and catching up. All three of us grew up together and have been friends …
