At exactly 37 weeks (and definitely earlier than planned!), we welcomed our son, Mathias (muh-THIGH-us) David Meidell, into the world at 5:34 a.m. after a whole two hours (!) of labor.
He was 6 lbs., 13 ounces, and 18.5″ long, and he reminds me a LOT of Raven when she was a baby (but just the masculine version!).
We are all totally smitten, especially his big sister, who has proudly stepped up to her new role and refers to him as “my baby.”
Get ready for picture overload over the next several weeks, folks, because that’s what you do when you have a cute newborn!
P. S. Just because the question has already come up multiple times–No, we don’t plan to shorten his name to Mat (because that would be confusing!). Instead, if we shorten his name at all, we’ll just call him Thias (THIGH-us).
